*New* Simply Scored Diagonal Plate and PPA Sneak Peek!

Happy Leap Day! I am handing this mini card to my friend as a Thank You. I made the envelope myself using the *new* Simply Scored Diagonal Plate (available March 1st) and the Timeless Portrait designer series paper.

You can make any size envelope you need, as the scoring lines are 1/8" apart and run diagonally on the plate, as opposed to vertically on the Simply Scored itself. With it's gripping "feet", your Diagonal Plate secures onto the Simply Scored tray.

The envelope measures 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" and the card inside is 3" x 3".

Here you can see a close up of my "flower" which is punched using the Scallop Circle from First Edition Specialty designer paper. I crunched up my flowers and then gave them a shot of Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz! There's a mouthful!

Here is the sneak peek of this week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge. We hope you will play along from tomorrow through March 8th!

Another Joy Fold Card

Hello! I made this Joy Fold card for a friend whose grandmother passed away recently. I really enjoy this new fold in a card! I used Timeless Portrait Designer paper and the card base is Island Indigo. The matte on the left front panel is River Rock card stock. The frame is embossed on Very Vanilla card stock.

On the inside, I used the Paper Doily die, cut out in Riding Hood Red. The sentiment stamp is from God's Blessings. The butterfly and little design above and below the sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Kindness Matters.

I used some clear Dazzling Details on the butterfly wings and I used my Color Spritzer Tool with a Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker to splotch on some color for the vintage feel. The edges of my Designer Frame were cut free-hand and then softly colored with a Sponge Dauber dipped in Crumb Cake ink. I used Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon to close my card.

I hope you like this card. Don't forget to leave your comments for THIS POST to be eligible to win my blog candy! One comment with answer to my question per person, please!

Also, please remember to join us at Pals Paper Arts for this week's challenge! There is still time to play!!

What Would YOU Choose? And A Prize!

Hi Everyone! I'm glad to be back from a nice, relaxing weekend. I wanted to show you what you could earn with Hostess Benefits! My last hostess chose the Bigz Lattice Die and a package of Stampin' Dimensionals for her free merchandise. Because of Sale-A-Bration, she also earned 2 packages of In Color 8-1/2" x 11" paper, a package of Everyday Enchantment Designer paper AND the bonus reusable shopping tote!

Here you can see a closeup of the tag I made using the Dotted Swiss Embossing Folder and the Timeless Type Medium Sizzlits Dies and my Big Shot. I used scraps of random colored card stock for my letters. (I only wrapped up the Hostess gifts, not the Sale-A-Bration paper.)

So, my question is, "What would YOU choose with YOUR $25 hostess dollars?" I will pick a random comment TO THIS POST ONLY with an answer to my question. All comments are due by Friday, February 23rd. I will post the winner of the Sale-A-Bration Brights Designer Buttons on Page 9 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure on Saturday, February 24th. The posted winner has until Monday, February 26th to email me their address. ONE comment (with question answered) only, U.S. addresses only.

Don't forget to leave your answer to my question in the comment box! Good luck to everyone!

Clean and Simple Friday

Happy Friday! It's time for another Clean and Simple (CAS) card. This time it's another CASE. I got my idea from Sandy MacIver. She put a sentiment on her card and she used different colors than I did. I chose these colors by using my Color Coach.
COLOR COACH
Price: $14.95

I love the look of this Perfect Plum taffeta ribbon. It feels so silky and looks so elegant. The ink colors I chose were Perfect Plum, Marina Mist and Melon Mambo.

The Fresh Vintage Stamp Set is available *free* from the Sale-A-Bration brochure when you order $50 in Stampin' Up! products now through March 31, 2012. Place your order today using my Website.

Have a great weekend! I hope you will leave your comments about my card. I love to read them all!

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge 129

click on the photo to see the Edgelit detail

Welcome to this week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge, a lovelysketch by our own Margaret Moody.

I began my card with a 5-1/4" x 10-1/2" piece of Concord Crush card stock, which I scored at 5-1/4" and then folded. My next layer was Kiwi Kiss, cut to approximately 5" x 5". I used one of the new Adorning Accents Edgelit Dies to scallop one side of the square, and then used the the matching Adorning Accents Embossing Folder to emboss that same edge. The edges look so rich!

On top of the Lucky Limeade layer, I placed a 4 x 5" Melon Mambo, which frames a slightly smaller piece of Cheerful Treat (hostess) designer series paper. The embellishments on my card are a Concord Crush 1/2" Stitched Poly ribbon, which is knotted on the left side. I used the Posy Punch (hostess) stamp set for this card. For the right side, I stamped a Melon Mambo flower and punched it out with the Fancy Flower punch. In the middle of the flower, I used one of the round images, stamped in Concord Crush Ink, then punched it out with a 3/4" circle punch. To add some zing, I used a Brights Glimmer Brad in the center.
In the upper left portion of my card, I stamped "hello" in Melon Mambo and then punched it out wiht a 1" circle punch. It was matted with Lucky Limeade 1-1/4" punch.

I hope you enjoyed this bright card using the PPA sketch. Please play along using your favorite colors and products.

Pals February Blog Hop-- Sale-A-Bration and Occasions Mini

It's time for the the Stampin' Pretty Pals share some fabulous cards and projects featuring Stampin' Up's Occasions Mini and Sale-A-Bration products on today's Pals Blog Hop!

You've probably hopped over from Julie Trevitt Smith's blog, The Stampin' Affair, I'm stop number 16 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for paper projects showcasing Stampin' Up's Occasions Mini and Sale-A
-Bration products from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track. All of the items I used from the Occasions Mini are noted in the descriptions in BOLD.

This Joy Fold card was ultra fun to make. I used the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper to accent the Island Indigo, Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette card stock. The new Framelits Labels Collection perfectly frames the stamped images from the Apothecary Art
stamp set. All of these items are highlighted in the Occasions Mini catalog.

Here are close ups of the stamped image and the way the card opens. I colored the label image with Stampin' Write markers and a blender pen with ink from the Stampin' Pad. Don't you just adore these petite Twitterpated Designer Buttons? I accented them with Basic Pearls and Whisper White Baker's Twine. Can you see the inside edge decorated with the ultra silky 3/8" Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon?

This super cute Box in a Bag starts out with the Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper, which you can earn with Hostess Dollars when you have a Workshop. The colors in this paper are Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Concord Crush, Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Lucky Limeade. I chose to bring out the Melon Mambo, then used the *new* Large Sizzlits Paper Doily Die in Pear Pizzazz (the background color of this print from the DSP) from the Occasions Mini. Isn't it beautiful? There are SO many ways to use this doily. You can snip off the outer edges for a completely different shape and size. Or layer the doily sizes in different colors. It's also exquisite when cut out in Whisper White. The stamped sentiment is from P. S. I Love You stamp set, also from the Occasions Mini.

Now hop along for more inspiring ideas from Tricia Barber, stop number 17 on the Occasions Mini & Sale-A-Bration Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for "hopping" by!

Storage Solutions

Hi friends! Tomorrow is the February Pals Blog Hop! Join us as we tour around the Pals and see samples from the Occasions Mini and the Sale-A-Bration brochure. We hope to inspire you to make your own projects with the wide variety of products available now!

Today I thought I'd share how I store some of my Stampin' Up! supplies. I hope you get some ideas for your own stamping space. I have a whole room to "play" in, but it's too messy for me to share! Here are some of the spaces individually.

Here is how I store the larger plates for my Big Shot, as well as the new Framelits and Edglits. I bought this "letter holder" at one of those discount stores for about $10 and it works perfectly for the Letter Press Plates, Texturz Plates, embossing folders and cutting plates.

My Big Shot itself sits on top of this Longaberger Shelf unit. I use it right on the shelf. Underneath I have a fabric collapsable "box" where my dies stand up on their sides. Next to the dies is a square clear box which was originally a drawer divider. It holds my Sizzlits and Edgelits perfectly.

This idea is all over the internet for punches. I use the Ikea towel racks. They are mounted right onto the frame of my bulletin board, which I still use to tack items onto. I am lucky to have an Ikea locally. I hear that Ikea does not mail these rails for some reason. The rest of my punches (newer style) are on an over the door shoe organizer, and it is full.

My clear stamp sets are stored horizontally. They are inside of three "3L Capacity" Really Useful Boxes. Their lids are stored and used as "trays" when I take supplies to Workshops. Each of these clear boxes holds 18 CDs or 10 DVDs.

I store my 8-1/2" x 11" card stock upright by color collections in these magazine boxes. They are super sturdy and I got them in clearance from an office supply store.

My Stampin' Write Markers are each in their Color Collection families. I made this holder out of large Crystal Lite containers. They are stuck together using Stampin' Dimensionals, and tied together with a retired Stampin' Up! ribbon. This holder cost almost nothing and I recycled!
