Decorated Candles

Today, I thought I'd share with you some little candles that I decorated recently. A friend of a friend, who saw one of my "cakes" asked me to make two for her. One was for a birthday and the other I think was for cheering someone up. So, I set out and make FOUR cakes, because I wanted to give her a choice of colors/themes. She bought all four candles!

For the first one, I cut out the strawberry from the Berry Blossoms designer series paper. I added it to the top of the candle with a piece of 1/8" Old Olive taffeta ribbon. It matches the taffeta around the edge as well.

This next candle is decorated with the Cheerful Treat (appropriate name!) designer series paper that is only available to qualifying hostesses. I added bling with some basic rhinestones on top of my teeny flowers punched from coordinating card stock using the Boho Blossoms and Itty Bitty Shapes punches. The tags are from Tiny Tags and are punched out with the Jewelry Tag.

I think this third candle is my favorite! It uses the Flirtatious Specialty designer series paper. I used pearls to accent the same flowers as candle #2, and the same tag punch with Tiny Tags and Pennant Parade stamps. The top edge of the side was decorated using 1/4" Pretty In Pink grosgrain ribbon that I "ruffled" with Sticky Strip. The tags were secured using Whisper White baker's twine.

This was the most fun candle and I used the Big Top Birthday designer series paper. I punched a piece of Daffodil Delight (Patterns Designer Series Stack) using the Floral Fusion die to slip around the flame. Another Tiny Tags sentiment tied on with Cherry Cobbler/White baker's twine and you are finished!

I hope you enjoyed my candles. If you would like to purchase a candle that I design using your color scheme or theme, please email me and I would be happy to fill your order.

I look forward to reading your comments!

CUPCAKE THRONE-Pure Deliciousness!!

Happy Birthday! I love this Cupcake Throne, which I learned how to make from Janine Tinklenberg over at Stamps, Paper, Scissors. Jan doesn't know that she saved my LIFE last week with her free tutorial. I needed a 3-D project for my workshop. My gals were over-the-top excited to make this when I revealed it at the workshop! Plus, we got to eat cupcakes, so what could be better than that?

This is a close up of my popped up elements. I simply cut out the stamped images and adhered them using Stampin' Dimensionals. The baker's twine is just such a great embellishment on this project.

I simply cannot STAND how yummy this photo is!! Yes, these cupcakes were delicious, too!!

Here is what I used to decorate my cupcake throne:
Card Stock: Textured Wisteria Wonder, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Designer Series Paper: Cheerful Treat (hostess)
Stamps: Pennant Parade, Party This Way
Ink: Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Petite Pennants Builder & 3/4" circle punches, Stampin' Dimensionals, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Write markers in Elegant Eggplant and Melon Mambo
Extra: ONE YUMMY CUPCAKE, your choice of flavors!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge - ONE Fashion Inspiration

PALS PAPER ARTS announces this week's challenge: Fashion Inspiration "Dress for Success." Use ONE Designer Series Paper, ONE punch and ONE sentiment! Isn't this kitty a cutie all decked out in his tie?

Happy Birthday to YOU!

I did NOT know what I would do with the above "restrictions" but here is a clean and simple card to get your ideas flowing. Check out the rest of our Design Team's offerings and then come up with your very own interpretation in this week's challenge.

When you play along this week, you will be eligible to win BLOG CANDY! Your entry must be made for this challenge and be directly linked to our site to be eligible. Please use any stamps, paper or accessories to complete your project. It does not have to be Stampin' Up! supplies to be eligible.

TIP: I chose to paper-piece the balloon, which I don't believe I have ever done before! All you do is stamp your image onto designer series paper, then cut out a part of it outside the stamped line--in this case the balloon. Then stamp the image again onto card stock and adhere just the cut-out over the second stamping. Voila! Your balloon now has the pattern from the paper on it! Try it, you'll like it!

Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Wild Wasabi, Peach Parfait, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Designer Series Paper: Just Add Cake
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Ink: Peach Parfait, Early Espresso
Extras: 1-3/4" Circle punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Piercer and Matt Pack

Thanks for visiting today, my friends, and please do leave your comments below. I love reading them and I thank you for letting me know how you like my cards.

Welcome to the Pals 3D Blog Hop!

Welcome to the August Pals Hop! This month, we're featuring fun and creative 3-dimensional projects! Enjoy the hop and the amazing creations that the Pals have come up with.

You've likely hopped over from Carmen Sublasky at Creative Stamptuary. I'm stop number 7 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for 3-D paper projects from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track!

I decided to create a hanging basket to give a sweet gift to a friend. I don't have the "sweet" part ready yet, so here is my basket. The basket is made from two Poppy Parade Scallop Circles cut with my Big Shot. I then textured them with my Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I used Sticky Strip to adhere them together.

Here are the supplies I used:

Card Stock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade

Designer Series Paper: Paisley Petals

Stamps: Three Little Words, Four Frames

Ink: Early Espresso

Accessories: Big Shot, Lattice & Scallop Circle Dies, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Decorative Label and Oval punches, Whisper White 3/8" grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Sticky Strip, Crop-a-dile

This is a close up of my sentiment. I layered my Oval onto the Decorative Label-punched frame. I used Stampin' Dimensionals under the oval and under the punch. Glue Dots were used to adhere the Lattice (cut from Paisley Petals designer Series Paper).

To decorate my basket, I stamped the flower from the Three Little Words stamp set in Early Espresso, then colored it using a Blender Pen with Calypso Coral ink (from the lid of the pad) and then the outline was colored using a Poppy Parade Stampin' Write Marker. I cut out the flower using Paper Snips, which work perfectly on delicate cuts.

PPA 105 Celebrity Color Challenge

Here she is! We welcome a Celebrity Color Challenge this week. Playing along with Pals Paper Arts is our guest, Mary Marsh. She has a blog entitled The Charmed Life. Check out her work, won't you?

This week's card came together relatively quickly after a lot of thought! I have a Lucky Limeade card base, then a matt of Crumb Cake card stock, topped with a piece Island Indigo print from the Timeless Portrait Designer Series Paper.

Okay, so there are two of my challenge colors! Now I stamped Fabulous Florest petals in Island Indigo onto Daffodil Delight. Now my color palette is complete! I popped up the smaller flower with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To add some interest, I stamped the leaf pattern from Fabulous Florets twice in Lucky Limeade onto Very Vanilla card stock and then snipped them out. My flower and leaves were strategically placed over the same items on the designer series paper!

My sentiment is Island Indigo stamped onto Crumb Cake and punched with the Oval punch, then layered with the Scallop Oval punch in Daffodil Delight.

I hope you are inspired and that you will consider playing along with us! It's fun and you really do stretch your creativity.

I do so enjoy your comments, so I hope you will leave one below. See you next week!
