Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge #70

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I am thankful for so much in my life. I hope you are, too! Today's challenge is a sketch by our own Margaret Moody.

I had so many scraps from Autumn Spice that I decided to use them on this card. Those small squares were perfect for my scrap strips, which were 3/4" wide to begin with. The rest of them I used around the border. I chose to use the So Many Thanks stamp on the outside instead of any of the "Thanksgiving" stamps I have.

I hope you enjoy looking at my creation and that your day is full of family, fun, food and rest!

Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Textured Old Olive
Designer Series Paper: Autumn Spice
Stamp: So Many Thanks
Extras: Stampin' Write Markers in Early Espresso, More Mustard, Cajun Craze; Stampin' Dimensionals

There are FIVE days left to take advantage of the fantastic offer to buy the Starter Kit for $87.50! That is $310 worth of product you keep with no obligation. But the offer is only good until November 30th, so hurry! Here are the details.

Ornament Trio

Simple. I love simple! I "stacked" the greeting from Christmas Greetings and used a Stampin' Write Marker to ink it up so it would fit better with this layout. I like the mostly untraditional colors of the ornaments. They make a dramatic showing on a background of Basic Black. They are easily punched out with the Ornament Punch.

Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for looking. I read all of your comments, so please let me know how you like my card.

Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: Tags til Christmas, Christmas Greetings
Ink: Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red, Marina Mist

Merry, Mary!

I love this card! It's so... "Merry!" Well, one reason is Mary Fish, my upline! She had a tutorial she calls One Minute to Wow and you can see her tutorial and card HERE. I used her technique, but made a different card. Below is my photo tutorial.

1. Use a background or large "busy" stamp. I used the Hydrangea from Because I Care (hostess level 1). Ink it up with VersaMark.

2. Emboss with gold ink.

3. Using my 3/4", 1/2" and the circle punch from Itty Bitty Shapes punch set...

4. Cut out as many circles as you can. I used the extras on other projects. See what you can create! You can use the circles as flowers. You can matte them for a more dramatic effect.

Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive
Designer Series Paper: Nite Owl from Holiday Mini Catalog
Stamps: Because I Care, Christmas Greetings (sentiment), Tree Trimmings (ornament hangers)
Ink: Gold, Real Red
Punches: 3/4", 1/2", Itty Bitty Shapes
Extras: Old Olive 5/8" satin ribbon, Mini Glue Dots

I hope you enjoyed looking at my creation. Please remember to place your orders for Stampin' Up! using my Website.

Living in a Material World

This week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge is called "Ribbon or Fabric" Clean and Simple. Of course this is all up to YOUR interpretation! I didn't have any fabric to use, so....

Scallop Edge Border punch is the star of this show! I made my scalloped paper look like fabric ruffles by cutting them into narrow strips and "aging" them by crinkling them upward after applying. I thought adding a button with a cording tie might give a fabric feel as well. What will YOU do when you play along? Don't forget, there is Blog Candy at stake here!!

Don't forget, you only have until November 30th to sign up to be part of my team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. All of your Christmas projects will now cost you less! See how by clicking on THIS post and contact me today to sign up.

If you need to order supplies, please use my website any time.

Today's Project List:
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Old Olive
Designer Series Paper: Jolly Holiday, Regals Patterns Designer Pack
Stamps: Bright Christmas, Tags til Christmas
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Extras: Scallop Edge Border punch, Scallop Circle punch, 1-1/4" Circle punch, Deck the Halls Big Designer Button, Gold Elastic cord (retired), Mini Glue Dots

Girls Night Out

Last Friday night, I had five girlfriends over for a special party. My wonderful husband prepared food and selected and poured wine for us! We sat around and talked and laughed for a few hours. It was wonderful. We host this event every six months or so and I always give my friends a "free prize." This time it was a Hershey Nugget inside a fun container that I made from some Fall colors of card stock.

I got this idea from Mary Fish, my Fearless Leader/Upline. All it takes is a Petal Card Extra Large Double Punch, a Jewelry Tag Medium punch, a 1/16" punch, a sentiment and some gold cord or Linen Thread. Add any tiny sentiment and you have a great prize to give to your friends!

You could really decorate these much more, but I kept it simple... perhaps because I was making these one hour before the girls arrived! ;-)

I hope you enjoy and please leave me a comment! I hope you are considering the wonderful offer to start your demonstrator status for only $85! HERE is the post with all of the details. You only have until November 30th, so don't procrastinate!

Ingredients:
Card Stock: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede
Ink: Soft Suede
Punches: Petal Card Extra Large Double, Jewelry Tag Medium, 1/16" circle punch
Extras: Stampin' Dimensionals, Gold Cord, Hershey's Nugget

Mojo Monday Candy Cane Christmas

Play along with MOJO Monday! I loved this sketch, but didn't know how I would pull it off. I don't sew on my cards and I don't have a "stitch" stamp, so I had to improvise. This Stampin' Up! Specialty Designer Series Paper, "Candy Cane Christmas" provided just the design I was looking for to mimic a stitch on the sides of my square center portion.

Because I didn't want the stockings covered up too much on my center portion, I used Window Sheets and Craft Ink to stamp a sentiment, then cut it out with a 1" circle punch and matted it with a snippet from a Square Lattice Bigz Die. It is suspended over the stocking patterned paper with a Mini Glue dot and then the dot is camouflaged with a *sparkly* rhinestone. I like the way it turned out, but you can see in the close up that I didn't notice I had smudged my craft ink in my hurry to get this posted today!

Card Ingredients:
Card Stock: Baja Breeze smooth and textured, Blushing Bride
Designer Series Paper: Candy Cane Christmas
Stamps: Holiday Tag Team (retired)
Ink: Craft White
Extras: Stampin' Write Marker in Real Red, Blushing Bride 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Medium Window Sheets, 1" Circle Punch, Big Shot, Square Lattice Bigz Die, Clear Rhinestones, Mini Glue Dots

Why don't you create something using the sketch below and post it for everyone to enjoy?

Fall Trio #2

I promised you a second Fall Trio, and here it is! I hope you enjoy looking. Let me know if you like these!

The first one was started with part of a Scallop Square Bigz Die. I ran a piece of Autumn Spice Speicalty Designer Series Paper through my Big Shot and cut off one strip. You may remember I already used the strip on another card from Monday's post. Also, on top of my sentiment (from Day of Gratitude), you will see the strip of the Top Note "square" I used on another card from Monday's post. I stamped the leaves from the same stamp set individually onto Very Vanilla using the Rock N Roll technique. This is a simple and fun technique where you stamp the image on one ink pad, then choose another color (usually darker) to rock just the edges of the image. This leaves you with a lighter color in the middle and a darker edge. I tied each leaf with a piece of Linen Thread and popped each up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This could be my favorite! Another Top Note square in More Mustard highlighted with a Lattice Bigz Die Cut. I added a stamped and cut out acorn from Day of Gratitude to the bottom center. For the sentiment, also from Day of Gratitude, I stamped it onto Whisper White, then punched it out with the Decorative Label XL punch and used a sponge dauber and Early Espresso ink to rub some color onto the edges for a little bit of contrast.

Lastly, this simple card with one matte of Autumn Spice print. I made a banner of the Grateful Greetings sentiment and then stamped another image from Day of Gratitude using my Stampin' Write markers for several colors. I punched it out with my Square Scallop punch then matted it with a circle punched from Old Olive. To the side, for some interest, I used another strip from a Top Note Die square in More Mustard.

I really hope you enjoyed my two trios this week. We are having weather that is weird--in the 90's, so I am hoping that the cooler weather is on it's way!

I invite you to use my Website to order your own Stampin' Up! supplies any time.
