Button, Button, Whose Got the Button?

Pals Paper Arts Challenge #62 "Elements of Style" is to use a button or buttons on your project. How easy is that? I chose to keep it simple and let one button speak volumes! Isn't this cute? I began this thinking it would be a welcome baby card, but I'm thinking it could really be for almost any occasion. The Nursery Suite Designer Series Paper is just darling and provides plenty of detail on the corner to match the cut-outs on the background paper.

Won't you play along with us? Upload your creation and be eligible to be "picked" as a favorite for the week.

Supplies for this card:
Card Stock: Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Nursery Suite
Stamps: So Cute

Extras: Designer Buttons

Tiny Tags Set

Love

Thanks So Much

The Full Set

This was the easiest set of cards to make! I ran the four pieces of Very Vanilla through my Big Shot using the Elegant Lines embossing folder. Next, I cut the four colors of card stock to the A2 size card. The colors I used are: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black and Old Olive. I tied the coordinating Satin ribbon in a bow around each piece and adhered it to my card front.

To finish the cards, I die cut the same colors from the Movers and Shapers Modern Label shape and used that to matte my sentiments (punched with my Modern Label hand punch) from Tiny Tags in the same four colors of ink. I added clear rhinestones to each one and popped them up on dimensionals. Each card also has a Very Vanilla inside for writing on.

I was thinking that the Movers and Shapers were only good to make a CARD with the cut out shapes, but now I see how I can use the magnet piece to cut out just the matte to match each of my hand punches! (Star, Heart, Modern Label and Heart)

Since the Chocolate Chip satin ribbon is no longer available, you could substitute Early Espresso. (Wish I had thought of that sooner!)

I hope you like looking at my card and will leave you comments. I like reading them all.

Happy Anniversary!

Dear friends celebrated their 25th Anniversary this week and I wanted to make a special, yet non-traditional card for them. The only hint of silver in the card is the tiny cording that holds the "Mr. & Mrs." sentiment. I thought I needed to use that stamp more than for a wedding card!

PPA59-Celebrity Color Challenge

This week's Pals Paper Arts challenge is a Color Challenge and our special Celebrity participant is none other than Beate Johns! Check it out and play along! This week everyone who submits a new creation and uploads a direct link to their project will be eligible to win Blog Candy!

The striped block on my card was created by cutting the striped pattern into 1/2" strips, and then laying them across the matte just "off" of each other to alternate the pattern. A fun and easy effect.

MOJO154

Mojo Monday's sketch was Round or Square, so I chose the easier--Square! I LOVE these colors together, inspired by the Designer Series Paper "Love Letter." The colors in the paper are Riding Hood Red, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.

Accessories really made this card pop! I used the rich Basic Black Satin ribbon and one Basic Clear Rhinestone.

My Big Shot came in handy, allowing me to create that beautiful Basic Black Large Scallop Square. I ran it through a second time to texture it with the Textured Impressions Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

Two hand-held punches gave me the paper circle and the round scallop. "Amour" was stamped in two colors using my Stampin' Write markers and was then punched out using the Small Oval punch.

The square of Very Vanilla inside the Basic Black scalloped square is my own "designer" paper! I love creating my own background papers using my stamps. One of the Artistic Etchings stamps dipped into Riding Hood Red and repeated across the paper sideways completed the look I was going for.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my card and that you will leave your comments below.
