Hugs & Kisses

Our daughter arrives this morning for a visit between semesters. We haven't seen her since early April, so everyone is excited at our house! I usually make a card to welcome her, and this visit is no exception.

I used a white background to showcase this Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper. I stamped some White Craft Flower Lines (Hostess Level 3-available July 1) onto new Rich Razzleberry cardstock and matted it next to another print white Whisper White. The second print from Razzleberry Lemonade is matted with the new Crushed Curry.

I had no little shiny things to match this paper, so I took my clear gel pen and went over two little dots I drew (Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker) on the Modern Label (available July 1st) punched sentiment. I also highlighted the row of flowers with the gel pen. This adds just a bit of Razzle and Dazzle!

These new "In Color" papers will be available on July 1st. It is so exciting having the new Idea Book and Catalog coning out. Lots of new products are going to be available to use in your creative endeavors.

Ingredients:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper
Ink: White Craft
Stamps: (isolated) Lots of Thoughts
Accessories: Nestabilities Die Cuts, Big Shot, Stampin' Write Marker, Modern Label punch, Spiral Punch

Thanks for stopping by and remember you can shop with me 24/7.

Krafty Baja Pinkness

Today's card is a combined challenge, using Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge 234 for the layout and Color Throwdown colors. When trying to stamp sentiment in Pink Pirouette, my stamp was not clean. This "mistake" resulted in just the right ending! The Pink Pirouette was not really dark enough to be seen easily, so the residual ink had a blue hue and shadowed the pink perfectly! I love when mistakes turn out for the best. This is sort of a sideways rock 'n' roll technique, where you dip your stamp into a light color, then roll the edges only of the same inked stamp into a darker color. The edges of the image come out in a different color than the middle and it looks really cool. Thanks for stopping by today, and please leave your comments! I love comments!
Shop with me 24/7.
Ingredients:
Cardstock: Kraft, textured Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, sentiment from Wonderful Words
Ink: Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Heidi Swapp self-adhesive rhinestones

Sweet Challenge

Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #10 is sweet! The colors are Melon, Cream, Berry, Dark Brown. Using Stampin' Up! Colors, I chose Cameo Coral (textured), Very Vanilla, Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip. The Designer Paper is Pink Flamingo. I used just the word Cheers from the Lots of Thoughts set of stamps and I inked it with my Ruby Red Stampin' Write Marker. It matches the paper or ink pad juts perfectly. The lovely Chocolate Chip satin ribbon is from Theater Ribbon Originals. It's very thick and rich just like a real chocolate chip! The copper brads from the "Vintage" set add just the right shine to finish this card.
Remember, Stampin' Up's Last Chance offers are only good until June 30th. The new 2009-2010 year-long Idea Book and Catalog is released July 1st. If you would like a copy for only $5 (I pay postage) please email me today by using the link on my sidebar. This catalog sells normally for $9.95 and is LOADED with ideas as well as all of Stampin' Up's new and seasoned products. Mojo Monday 92

Mojo Monday Sketch #92! Check it out here and play along. I used a larger sized card today than usual because I wanted to use this LOVELY Rub-On from the Lovely Lines Bundle, which is a Hostess Level 3 set. The set includes 2 sheets of Lovely Lines Rub-Ons (1 ea. Chocolate Chip and Whisper White), 9 sheets of 12"x12" double-sided Desiger Series paper (3 ea. in 3 designs), and the Flower Lines stamp set (double-mounted set of 4). The only way you can get this set is to earn it by hosting a Stampin' Up demonstration or workshop. With you and your guests paper crafting you are sure to want to purchase your own products to continue creating at home. This results in hostess benefits for you, which could include the set I used today. I would love to set up your workshop for you if you are in the Orange County area of California. Just email me: patimac1980@yahoo.com or click on the link on my sidebar.
The smaller photo shows how I used my blender pen in a puddle of Old Olive ink to color in the word "lovely." This technique allows you to look like a watercolor artist!
I hope you enjoyed my card and I hope you will leave a comment for me. Thanks for visiting.

Manly Sketch Challenge

Splitcoast had a challenge for this card layout and I made it masculine like my Stampin' Pretty Pals' challenge. It's Father's Day weekend! Hooray for all of the fathers who take the time to guide their children from their earliest days and throughout life. I used the Oval All stamp set and stamped onto the Kiwi Kiss Urban Oasis print. Then I stamped the same image onto the back of textured Kiwi Kiss and popped it out with my Oval Punch and adhered it over the first image. Now the dimensional Just for You is surrounded by stars! There are so many colors in this paper that it was hard to figure out which ones I should matte with. I chose to use one dark (Basic Black) and one light (Baja Breeze) paper. The bottom right corner looked like it needed something, so I chose a corner punch in a print to match the opposite side of my card. Thanks for looking! I love comments.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about Stampin' Up or my creations. Of course you can always shop with me 24/7!

Kwerner #55

HOME. That is where any soldier or military member would rather be. However, the life they have chosen is one of sacrifice. Sacrifice of even the simplest things back home. This card was created for a soldier to let him know that he is thought of at home and to thank him for his service and remind him that he is missed!
I participated in the Kwerner Color Inspiration Challenge using the colors Really Rust, More Mustard, Basic Gray and Very Vanilla. All products are Stampin' Up including the vintage brads in the center of the stars. I used the stamp set Well Worn Alphabet dipped in Basic Gray ink for the sentiment. I also textured my Really Rust mat by using Stampin' Up's Texturz Plates and running it through the Big Shot. Easy! Have a great weekend everyone!

Simple Circles

I met the challenges CAS19 and CC223 on Splitcoast Stampers!  This Clean and Simple design meets Color Challenge colors Baja Breeze, Ruby Red and Whisper White and makes the perfect birthday card for any age, any gender.  Ruby Red card base measures 5.25 x 5.25 and is topped with circles stamped in Ruby Red onto Whisper White, then matted with textured Baja Breeze.  My very last piece of Baja Breeze striped grossgrain holds one more circle and the sentiment from the Mark the Date stamp set on Whisper White, punched and matted using Stampin' Up's Tag punches. This card came together very fast!  Baja Breeze is one of Stampin' Up's retiring colors, so if you would like to order ink, paper, ribbon or the CUTE corduroy buttons from the mini catalog, you have until June 30th, which is right around the corner!

Mojo Monday 91

Using new papers again today! The Designer Series Paper is called Razzleberry Lemonade has so many different colors and patterns that all coordinate together. I used one of my Circle Circus stamps again and made my own pattern using Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White paper. I recently tried Stampin Up's textured cardstock and LOVE it so I ordered some In Color textured 8.5 x 11 and I'm really glad I did. It adds just the right amount of depth to your cards for either the elements on the front or for your card base (here in new Crushed Curry). It's easy to fold-not too heavy like some textured cardstock I've tried before. Textured cardstock is also great for scrapbooking (available in 12 x 12), which is the first place I ever used it. (If you'd like to see some other Mojo Monday cards from this sketch, please check the Mojo Monday website.) The sentiment on this card is one of the Lovely Lines rub ons that comes in the Lovely Flowers Bundle in the Hostess Level 3 "freebees." The sentiments and other rub ons in the set match the stamp set and Designer Paper, which are also part of the set. Ask me how you can earn this or any sets in our Hostess program.

Darling Dots

More playing with my new stamps. I used an image from Scene in a Garden (available from the Mini Catalog only until June 30th) and colored it with my new Stampin' Write Markers in the In Colors Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede. I am so happy that Stampin' Up included Stampin' Write Markers in the In Colors this time around! I used a piece of paper from Urban Oasis Designer Paper for my background and I stamped the leaf image from the hostess set Darling Dots. This set has 8 stamps and is sooooo cute! You will see more of those images in the coming weeks, trust me. I cut out a space for my sentiment from the Birthday Wishes set with my brand new Modern Label punch, then added little dots on the outside of those edges to match the dots on my leaf stamp. I think this card would be appropriate for a guy or a gal for their birthday.
I love how Stampin' Up always makes sure that you can use their newest products with some of your old favorites!

Happy Hellos

I am having way too much fun! Today I used some of the new Designer Paper, "Razzleberry Lemonade" and the new In Colors Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. I built a brad using one of the Circle Circus images and my own card candy was created by embossing another Circle Circus image and then coloring it in with In Color markers and then popping it up over the ribbon with dimensionals. When I emboss the image, it makes it easier to color in because your marker doesn't go outside the raised lines very easily at all! Makes me look like a pro! This is another of the preview stamp sets I was able to purchase because I am a demonstrator. I matched it up with a current Lots of Thoughts for my sentiment. So far I have loved using my new images and papers and colors. It's so fun to create with new merchandise.
If you are interested in any of the Stampin' Up items you see me using, please contact me by email (sidebar) OR, shop with me 24/7.

True Friend

I finally received my order with sneak peek new items from Stampin' Up! yesterday! Of course they have been plenty busy sending out all of the demonstrator's items so that our customers can start seeing just a hint of what is coming out on July 1st. I used some items from a Level 3 hostess set. The set is called "Lovely Flowers Bundle" and includes 2 sheets of Lovely Lines Rub-Ons (1 ea. Chocolate Chip and Whisper White), 9 sheets of 12" x 12" double-sided Designer Series paper (3 ea. in 3 designs), and the Flower Lines stamp set. The colors in the papers are Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo (new In Colors) and Old Olive. For this card I stayed with the Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. I used one rub-on, which is the Whisper White flower. I stamped the sentiment using the stamp set and my Crushed Curry ink. The envelope is lined with the Crushed Curry print from the designer paper. To earn this set free, you could host a workshop with me. Not only could you earn this set, but you would additionally receive $60.00 in free merchandise from Stampin' Up! A workshop is fun because it's you and your friends and you learn how to make cards or other paper crafts using Stampin' Up products. Schedule your workshop by emailing me at patimac1980@yahoo.com
Or shop with me 24/7.
Don't forget Last Chance (retiring items) that are available while quantities last, listed on my left sidebar.

God's Beauty

Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge 222.  White! This card was SUper easy, and even with adding color to my butterfly, it only took me about 15 mintues to make.  I used the Stampin' Up Scallop Die cut and my Big Shot to cut out the card shape.  I stamped the butterfly from God's Beauty in Basic Black and colored it with a puddle of Tangerine Tango and my blender pen.  I cut out the pretty butterfly and added Basic Black cardstock for the antennae, then popped it up with dimensionals . The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black and voila!  Here you go.
SO excited that my Stampin' Up package will arrive today with some sneak preview goodies!  I have been waiting VERY patiently.  I will have something new to post tomorrow.  See you then!

Bella Wedding Wishes

This is a Mojo sketch #90. I like working from a sketch. It actually saves me time. I know the layout already, I just fit the pieces in. I used a Naturals Ivory card stock base and three prints from the Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is Fancy Flexible Phrases (a staple in my collection of stamp sets) which is inked in Sahara Sand. I used my Nestabilities for the square, rectangle and circles. The scallop punch and grey taffeta ribbon are also Stampin' Up.
You can shop with me 24/7. Thanks for stopping by!

Check my side bar for the Last Chance lists. Stay tuned for some brand new items which I will sneak peek for you! Stampin' Up's new Idea Book and Catalog comes out on July 1st.

Wedding Colors

You never know what your card will inspire. I made this card for my daughter. I left it on the bedside table as a welcome for her when she came home between semesters. She got engaged shortly after that and she wants to use the colors in this card for her wedding colors! Her wedding is in 2010, so we have so much time to plan. In the mean time, I made little sample cards using the same materials for her to give out to her attendants so they can keep the colors in mind and keep their eyes open for anything "wedding" that matches her color scheme. The scalloped card was purchased (unfolded) at a scrapbook store. I used Stampin' Up's Print Pattern, juiced up with Chocolate Chip ink over Gold-inked French Script. The brown leafy pattern is an unmarked designer paper and the horizontal turquoise with gold paper is actually a piece from a magazine ad! The crocheted flower was part of a bundle of items I got from an auction site. Gold cording is also Stampin' Up.

Be sure to check out my sidebar for Last Chance Stampin' Up items this month only, while supplies last. The Stampin' Up website has current information on the ever-shrinking retiring accessories, as well. Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend.

Hawai'ian Color Throwdown #45

Color Throwdown #45 uses the colors Green Galore, Pink Passion and Chocolate Chip.  I stamped my flowers (designed by RSP Honolulu) onto Very Vanilla to make my own designer paper and added a matching "reverse" piece of ribbon. The sentiment (designed by Stampette) was inked in Green Galore, then punched out of Very Vanilla with the Scallop Oval Punch (114889) and matted with a Wide Oval Punch (112082) of Pink Passion. I used the sketch 227 from Splitcoast Stampers to create my design. If you have never done a card challenge, Splitcoast is a wealth of ideas. Stampers share their creations and we all get ideas from one another. I really stretch my creativity by using sketches and color challenge combinations. It has made me a better stamper!

Mahalo to my friend, Alohi!  The rubber stamps on this card were gifts from her.

Don't forget to check the links on my side bar for the retiring items.  Check the Stampin' Up Website for the retiring accessories list, as it is constantly being updated as items sell out.  Hurry for best selection, when these items are gone, they are gone!

If you would like to purchase any Stampin' Up items, please use my Demonstrator Website.  If you have any questions, please email me by using the link on my left side bar. Thanks for visiting and please leave a comment---I love feedback!

Washington Apple Graduates

I have two friends who have "kids" graduation, Kevin from college and Kelsey from high school. Kevin's card has a Washington Apple (designer paper) red with stripes for a background and a stripe of the dotted print. I punched stars, large and small from Riding Hood Red. I don't have Riding Hood Red ink, so I substituted Ruby Red and it matches just fine. I added a button and a brad to pop out the stars. For Kelsey's card, I used the printed floral paper from Washington Apple and cut out two sizes. I used some Crystal Effects on the dots in the center of each and cut out a leaf-patterned piece from Walk in the Park designer paper in the shape of leaves. For a bit of depth, I added half of what is left of my Kiwi Kiss striped grossgrain ribbon. I used a strip of the stripes from Washington Apple for the bottom of my card. The base of the card is Tangerine Tango. You can't see it, but the Ruby Red piece behind the white has been run through my Big Shot twice with the large dots Texturz Plate. Both cards are 5.25 x 5.25 and I decorated the envelope flaps with coordinating patterns, again from the Washington Apple DP. I am patiently waiting for my order of brand new stamps, In Colors and Designer Papers from Stampin' Up. I will post cards with these as soon as they are here!

Mojo Monday 89

My friend, Karin, is having a baby this summer and she knows it's a boy. Her shower is this month and I am ahead of the game and playing Mojo at the same time. I used Walk in the Park Designer Paper as my background. There are several prints that match the Baja Breeze textured cardstock I used here. I even lined the envelope with one of them. I stamped the sentiment twice and cut out the middle, then popped it up with dimensionals for a 3-D effect.
