Scene in a Garden

In the same swap as the image I posted yesterday, I received so many stamped images to play with!  I am grateful for everyone's cooperation and willing participation.  Today I used the image of the vase from the set "Scene in a Garden" from the Occasions Mini, which comes out TOMORROW!!!   Check back then and I will have a link to the catalog online.

I cased this card from Mary Fish on her Stampin' Pretty Blog.  Mary is my upline and I am indebted to her for encouraging me to create cards that are out of my comfort zone, use materials differently than most and to just take the time to spend stamping so I can grow as an artist.  Check out her creations and see why I love Stampin' Up more than ever.  If you wish to know more about opportunities to purchase and earn stamps and supplies AND save money please contact me!

MOJO80

Third try is a charm!  I really didn't quite get it until this card.  I first chose my DSP - Urban Garden - and then went to town.  I couldn't find my new corduroy buttons, so I used other buttons.  And, when it came to the scalloped sentiment, I improvised using one of the So Many Scallops, used my marker to color just the outside edges (no snowflake here!) and then filled in the middle with a matching button.  I hope you enjoy looking.

Beachy Hello-Kwerner #47

Kwerner Challenge #47. I was in a swap and got the images from the "Just Beachy" stamp set. (Comes out in THREE DAYS!!) I used the
surf wagon and cut it out with my Nestabilities and layered it in
Chocolate Chip and added a flower brad for the wagon "dust." The cutout for the front of the card, needed a fill, so I made my own cardstock using a flower from the "Eastern Blooms" set and Tangerine Tango and So Saffron inks. Lastly, I added the sentiment from "Fundamental Phrases" and cut it out using my oval paper punch, then framed it with another paper punch in textured Tangerine Tango cardstock and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used my Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker to add the little dots. The stamp sets will be available on April 1st from the Occasions Mini. See other challenges posts at www.kwernerdesign.com

Botanical Simplicity

Good morning! I fussed with this card with many do-overs even though my idea was simple! I used my beloved Stampa-ma-jig to get the blooms and flowers from the Botanical Blooms stamp set just so. My finishing touch was ribbon from the Fairy Tale Ribbon Originals and a Word Window punchout of the sentiment from this set. I used K & Company adhesive rhinestones to give it a little sparkle.

Paper: Blush Blossom and Rose Red
Ink: Mellow Moss, Rose Red, Basic Black

Occasions Mini Catalog begins April 1st!

Mojo For You

My first attempt at a Mojo (79) Monday Sketch!  I wanted bold colors so I used Green Galore and Lovely Lilac.  Adding the bold colors onto Whisper White sets off the combination. Reminds me of spring.  I ran the small piece of Green Galore through my new Big Shot using one of the Texturz Plates.  I stamped off the butterflies from Great Friend (Occasions Mini) using Lovely Lilac ink and the sentiment was stamped in Lovely Lilac on the Whisper White background.  I hope to participate in more Mojo Mondays in the future.  Let me know what you think!

CC210 Times TWO

Here are TWO cards I made for the Splitcoast Color Challenge 210.  The one on the bottom is my first attempt.  The one on the top is what I did with the leftovers that did not work with my original thoughts on card one.  The colors for the challenge were Stampin' Up Summer Sun, Riding Hood Red, Kraft and Basic Black or other neutral color.  For my Stampin' Pretty Pals twist, we added ribbon, so I used the Riding Hood Red Striped and matching grossgrain.

Take Two-Kwerner #46

I could not resist playing with the scraps from Kwerner Design's Color Inspiration Challenge #46.  I fell in love with the color combination.  On this card I used the bird with a differnent color wing.  I didn't know which angle to attach it, so I just did it this way!  I used Stampin' Up Candy Lane  designer paper and Nestabilities cut outs and embossing folder.  Stampin' Up pink ribbon from the "Flirty" ribbon originals.

Card Candy

I made some "thank you" card candy for my first two customers. I will add these to their order as a surprise when I deliver them.

I used my Oval All stamps and one stamp from Botanical Blooms and punched them out using my Medium and Large Oval Punches and my NEW Oval Scallop Punch. I stamped onto Walk In the Park DSP using Going Gray, Kiwi Kiss and Blue Bayou Inks.

It's fun previewing the new stamps! As a demonstrator I get to play before the stamps are for sale to customers. If you want to have this fun privilege, you can sign up to be a demonstrator, too. I'd love to answer your questions. Just email me using the link on the left side of my page.
Thanks for looking!

Polka Dot Punch

I love this color combination!  Black seems to make any color more crisp, and adding white to that just pops it!  I used craft ink and basic black to make card stock into my own designer paper. Adding the rhinestone brads adds just the right amount of sparkle.  Polka Dot Punch stamps are from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog, which ends March 31st. Basic Bird-Kwerner #45

Kwerner Designs Color Inspiration Challenge #45 is the inspiration for this card.  The card is 5.5 x 4.25 Basic Gray.  Torn script designer paper is of unknown origin.  Whisper White Nestabilities Scalloped and embossed circle embraces a Basic Black Nestabilities embossed circle.  In the middle of the circle is a felt Jenni Bowlin bird in gray, decked in a vintage black & white embroidered flower also by Jenni Bowlin.  The bird's eye is a tiny rhinestone.  Sentiment is stamped in Jet Black StazOn and surrounded by two white buttons.  If you want to see other creations using this challenge, check out kwernerdesign.com

Always SCS CC208

This card is for the SCS CC208 with a Pretty Pal's twist that it be a Pop-Up card.  I was not thrilled with the color combination at first, but I gathered all of my "ingredients" anyway.  It turned out WAY different than it began!  Using the SU Always stamp set, I first stamped the branch in Kiwi Kiss on Very Vanilla cardstock, then mounted that onto textured Kiwi Kiss cardstock and anchored it with Chocolate Chip photo corners.  I framed that with a Nesties scalloped rectangle in Chocolate Chip.  I didn't have any SU DSP with Pink Passion, so I made my own, using one of the flower circles and the branch stamped in Pink Passion and Kiwi Kiss, respectively, onto Very Vanilla cardstock and matted with Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The 5.5 x 4.25 card is in Pink Passion.  Last minute detail is a Pink Passion stamped flower circle upper right of the first Kiwi Kiss stamped branch.
I mounted a strip of Kiwi Kiss ribbon with antique brads.  Inside is a pop-up Pink Passion stamped heart stamped onto Very Vanilla.  When I went to take the photo, I found that this tin of Dark Chocolate Covered Ginger Snaps I had bought at Trader Joe's yesterday had the exact colors on it, so I snapped the photo of my card sitting pretty on it.
Always Stamp Set:  113620  Photo Corners Punch:  109042  Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon:  111372 Vintage Brads: 109109

Tea Party

Fun and easy! I used two sides of the Tea Party Designer Series Paper. I love the So Saffron and the Almost Amethyst combination. (I used Barely Banana instead of So Saffron and it works!)
I used my Word Window punch in Barely Banana with a Fancy Flexible Phrases "Enjoy" stamped in Almost Amethyst ink and anchored it with Almost Amethyst brads onto a Large Oval Punch out of same colored bubble circles from the Tea Party DSP. I used my Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls Embossing Folder on Very Vanilla cardstock wrapped in ribbon from the "Fairy Tale" Ribbon Originals and matted it with the small flower print Tea Party DSP, which I paper pierced before matting it with Almost Amethyst cardstock. On the Barely Banana 5-1/2" by 4-1/2 "card, I used Versamark to stamp rows of the small flower from the Watercolor Garden II stamp set.
